Daniele, Inc.
Daniele, Inc., is a maker of Italian style specialty foods such as prosciutto, salame, pancetta, capocollo and sopressata. The company was founded in Pascoag, Rhode Island, by Italian immigrant Vlado Dukcevich in 1976. Daniele, Inc. products are sold throughout the United States, as well as foreign markets including Canada, Mexico, China, Japan, South Korea and Colombia.
== History ==
Stefano Dukcevich and his wife, Carolina, escaped Croatia after World War II and settled in Trieste, Italy, where they learned the process of curing (food preservation) charcuterie. Carolina made pork sausages and Stefano sold them to local restaurants. Stefano and Carolina’s son, Vlado Dukcevich, joined the family business in the 1960s. In 1976, he brought the company to the United States, settling in Pascoag, Rhode Island. Daniele, Inc. now sells to delis and supermarkets throughout the country, and exports to Canada, Latin America and several countries in Asia.
Daniele, Inc. is in its third generation of ownership with Vlado’s sons, Stefano and Davide Dukcevich.
